YUN DONG-JU POEM ANIMATION
Yun Dong Ju was a Korean poet who was known for his lyric poetries as well as the resistance poetries against the Japanese colonialism during Japan's occupation of Korea, longing for Korea's liberation. One of his famous poems “A Poem I’ve Written Easily” is a work that portrays the dire state of his people, and his own helplessness as a powerless student in a foreign country.
This project was an experimentation with the poem and the Korean type. The animation was an attempt to capture the essence and emotion, an imagery of the strive for freedom, and an introduction to the history of Japanese colonization in Korea and a loved poet within the era.
